About Ember Breathing

In November of 2024, my dear Soul Sister asked me if I wanted to go to a breathwork ceremony with her in Dundas because she thought it sounded like something I’d enjoy.  As usual, she was right.  It felt like come home.

As I sat more with this feeling of home, I noticed that nothing feels as warm and comforting to me as being around a fire.  My first childhood home had a wood stove, campfires, fireplaces have all been magical places where memories are made, stories are told, music is shared.  Watching the Embers of a fire has fascinated me.  It is like those embers can breathe!  Or dance with the music within the flames.  There is this beautiful exchange needed to for a “good” fire.  Embers need the fuel to keep that fire lit and the warmth expanding, building comfort, nourishing us.  The balance of not too much and not enough air is what keeps those embers glowing beneath the wood and flames.  A perfect balance of light and dark.  To be tended.  To be cherished.  A place of connection.  A place of stories.  Of music. Of unconditional love and acceptance.  A place where change can occur. Things are transmuted.  Light and shadows are welcomed.

Why Seven Directions®️ Breathwork?

The choice to pursue Seven Directions®️Breathwork training was clear for me.  First, the method of Conscious Connected Breathwork had a feel to it.  There was a connection... not pause, not holding, not forcing, not counting.  I could actually get my thinking brain out of the way and truly connect to the breath.

The second deciding factor was the training itself.  I was surprised at how many different trainings are out there!  What stood out to me was how this training resonated with my values.  The training was 10 months and truly comprehensive including the biology, the spirit, a core ethical stance, is trauma-informed and had a practicum for in-depth instruction and feedback from beautiful mentors helped me grow my skills further.  It is an internationally accredited program through GPBA (Global Professional Breathwork Alliance) and the International Breathwork Foundation.  If I was going to take the step to start serving breath (I’m still getting used to this phrase), I was going to ensure I was going for quality!

Finally my Breathwork training had to be something that I felt would align with my other role/ career, and Seven Directions®️ Breathwork Being able to offer breath as a social worker and therapist in a way that upholds the integrity of this profession as well was imperative. I have spent 25 + years hearing stories and walking with individuals through their most challenging times. Sometimes words alone aren’t what is needed. The breath can step in. The ember can ignite.

Frequently Asked Questions

Conscious Connected Breathwork is a guided breathing practice that uses a continuous, rhythmic breath to support emotional release, nervous system regulation, and deep self-connection.

In this practice, you breathe in and out through the mouth (or nose, depending on your needs) without pauses between the inhale and exhale. This steady, circular breathing pattern gently shifts your body out of stress mode and into a state where stored emotions, tension, and old patterns can safely surface and release.

Unlike everyday breathing, Conscious Connected Breathwork is intentional. The breath becomes a bridge between the body and the subconscious mind — allowing you to access insight, clarity, and healing that talking or thinking alone may not reach.

During a session, you’ll be guided into a connected breathing rhythm while lying down in a safe, supportive environment. Music and verbal invitations are used to support the experience. As the breath builds, you may experience:

  • Emotional release
  • Tingling or physical sensations
  • Increased awareness or insight
  • A sense of clarity or expanded consciousness
  • Deep relaxation and nervous system reset (sometimes people fall asleep)!

Each experience is unique. Some sessions feel gentle and restorative; others feel powerful and transformative.  Try to let go of any expectations.

Conscious Connected Breathing may be used to:

  • Reduce stress and anxiety
  • Release stored trauma or emotional blocks
  • Increase energy and vitality
  • Strengthen mind-body awareness
  • Support personal growth and spiritual exploration

At its core, Conscious Connected Breathwork helps you use the wisdom of your own breath as the guide toward wellness.  Each experience is unique based on where your breath take you.  Remember, your breath has been with you since the moment your life began and is your oldest friend.  The breath holds wisdom and nourishment that you can access when you allow time and space to connect.

A few optional items you may want to have:

  • Eye mask
  • Water
  • Journal and pen for after the breathe
  • Blanket or bolster/pillow for comfort when laying
  • Yoga mat
  • Headphones for online sessions

Let me introduce myself...

My name is Sheri Clark and I am a mother, a daughter, a partner,  a friend, a dog mom, a kitten Nana and family by biology and  by choice to many beautiful souls.

I have always known I wanted to help others and have been fortunate to have a career where I have been a witness to hope and growth in the face of adversity.  As a Social Worker I have been committed to supporting mental health and holding space for others as they navigate life's challenges.

I love science and spirituality, time in nature and the perks of a city.  I feel deeply.  I love reading, music and learning.  I tend to be shy- but when I am comfortable I can be a chatterbox!

I am entering a new phase of life as a Breathwork facilitator.  There are some nerves as I begin this role, but the Spark is lit.  I feel the warmth radiating.

The Ember is breathing within me.  I hope you will join me.
